I’m never bored in class because the specific focus on the body takes you on a journey and there is just so much voyaging to do!!! The mind is fully connected with the body and the body is working and activated because of it. I have met few teachers with this talent and Jen has it.”

About your Guide
Hi! I'm Jen Kagan
A yoga practice should adapt to your body and keep you healthy for the rest of your life.
20 years ago I came to yoga because of an injury, like many of us do. When my practice cured my knee and I was able to cancel the scheduled surgery, I stayed. I realized that the benefits were not just physical. Those deeper benefits of yoga have helped me face the curveballs of life (divorce and loss) and put me on a path of deeper connection.
Over time, I had to adapt my practice. I was no longer living in NYC where I had a lot of classes to go to and I had to figure it out on my own. What at first seemed a disadvantage, not having a community or access to teachers, actually evolved my practice from something I did - to something I lived.
I have created a program so you don’t have to figure it all out on your own or be on your own. This program specifically gets you to practice regularly and gets you strong, flexible and more confident now and for years to come— so that you can weather all the curveballs with ease. You also get the expert guidance you deserve right by your side.
I invited a friend to practice virtually before online was popular and necessary as it is now. I discovered the potential of this platform. I myself have been a student online for years and also see the deep value. I am looking foward to teaching and developing a supporting community online.
I have been practicing yoga for more than 27 years and teaching yoga for 15 years. I hold a Jr 3 Iyengar yoga certificate and am a Certified Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists. I also studied 2 years of cranial sacral, somatic-emotional therapy with Amanda Garcia in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
I have had the fortune of studying yoga directly under BKS Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar and currently with Prashant Iyengar every two years in Pune, India. I am first and foremost a student and my teachers include Devki Desai, Gulnaaz Dashti, Carrie Owerko and Mary Obendorfer. I am grateful to study with them all online and in person .
I want to share yoga with enthusiastic learners because when learned and practiced properly, there is no greater tool for profound transformation and personal growth.
What is Iyengar Yoga
When you enter an Iyengar yoga class, you’re connecting to a rich method developed by BKS Iyengar over 75 years of teaching that is deeply connected to philosophy.
Students increase their strength, stamina, flexibility, balance via systematic, steady progress from class to class. Focus and concentration create moving meditation for tranquility, emotional clarity and spiritual well-being.
Iyengar is a transformative practice, accessible and challenging for every age, body type and fitness level. BKS Iyengar designed the therapeutic application of asana using his own invention of props, therefore students with injuries or special considerations find an Iyengar class empowering. Teachers are rigorously trained and highly dedicated. Learn more about the certification levels.
An Iyengar yoga class is desiged to empower self-awareness and an understanding of the needs of your body, mind, and spirit.
She is an excellent teacher who knows the body and how to do the postures correctly! I came with a worsening back, hip and sciatic problem! Five months later I am 90% better ! Best teacher ever and she has a great sense of humor too!
With her seemingly endless knowledge and experience, she can create ANY kind of yoga class that is appropriate for that student. She teaches with authenticity in a bright, optimistic manner but never loses sight of the origin and roots of Yoga and transmits the deeper meaning of Yoga to her students.

Live session and coaching bring the teacher to you without having to leave home. This online platform with a perfect blend of guidance and empowerment will help you to progress and transform your practice.

You can be an advanced practitioner or a keen beginner with a desire to pracice at home. I welcome students from all methods. Flexibility is not a requirement of practicing yoga.

Your personal practice will improve and this will enrich your teaching. You will learn or deepen your understanding of the foundational principles, alignment, how to adjust for conditions, use of language and props all of which will improve your teaching.
What if I miss the live classes? When are the classes? When do they start?
The beauty of online platform is that classes are available in a recorded format so you can do them whenver you want. Repetition is the most effective way to learn, so these recordings are meant to be repeated during the week. I show how to adjust the class so that you can get a full practice in the length of time your schedule allows.

How much time will this program take me? How much do I have to put in on a weekly basis?

Cost for Your Yoga Your Life
I feel so much more expansion in my body and my mind. And I feel much more stable and aware in every part of my life. And my heart is more open. I started with back pain and after the first few weeks it was gone. Jen breaks down the poses into steps that no matter where you are you can do some part of it. I had almost given up and now I have a new perspective of my body. I didn’t think I could practice regularly. And now I am motivated to do something everyday because it feels so good.
