Bangalore

Sept 2-5

Your package contains accommodation at a 4 star hotel *for you to ease into India and get accostumed to the time change. Your registration includes accommodation and breakfast is included. Also, a welcome dinner. Bangalore is the foodie capital!!

There will be some planned sights to visit but there is freedom for you to choose how you prefer to spend your time.

Here are some activities that you can do while you are in Bangalore. These are not included in the package so as to give you the choice and freedom to do what you like

  • Hand block print demonstration

  • Bull Temple

  • Visit to a Deaf school

  • Sri Arobindo temple

  • Walk around Ulsoor Lake

  • Visit to Pro-yog workshop (www.proyog.com)

Bellur

Sept 5-8

Out in the coutnry about 1 hour from Bangalore we will stay at the Bellur Iyengar yoga center. BKS Iyengar's dream to provide his hometown with a schoo, hospial and college. International teachers and local teachers offer workshops in the beautiful hyoga hall. Clean and modern dormitories with ample common bathrooms are where you will stay. Vies of surrounding mountains and fields make it a peaceful stay

2.5 hour morning class

All meals included

evening program of either meditation, chanting or pranayam

Visit to the Pantanjalii temple and the birth home of BKS Iyengar

Transportation from Bangalore to Bellur is included

Hampi

Sept 8-11

Hampi, also referred to as the Group of Monuments at Hampi, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site  Located in Karnataka near the modern-era city of Hosapete, Hampi's ruins are spread over 4,100 hectares (16 sq mi) and it has been described by UNESCO as an "austere, grandiose site" of more than 1,600 surviving remains of the last great Hindu kingdom in South India that includes "forts, riverside features, royal and sacred complexes, temples, shrines, pillared halls, mandapas, memorial structures, water structures and others".[7]Hampi predates the Vijayanagara Empire; there is evidence of Ashokan epigraphy, and it is mentioned in the Ramayana and the Puranas of Hinduism as Pampaa Devi Tirtha Kshetra.[2][8] Hampi continues to be an important religious centre, housing the Virupaksha Temple, an active Adi Shankara-linked monastery and various monuments belonging to the old city

Travel to Hampi is by train and bus and private transport

Mysore

Sept 11-14

Mysore is one of my favorite cities! We will visit the Palace, take a bike tour, eat delicious Mysore snacks, visit Chamundi Temple, and more!! You will have time to explore this beautiful city and countryside in the group or on your own.

Travel to Mysore will be via trains and private bus.

Accomodation are shared and in 3 star hotels

Not included in your package are extra tours, sight entrance fees, meals not included in hotel arrangements.

Ayurvedic Clinic

Sept 14-17

This part of your journey is under construction. There a few wonderful clinics near Mysore and Bangalore. I am currently negotiating a group package that includes accomodation and therapies. It promises to be a delicious, relaxing way to sum up all the experiences of our trip.
